Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms; and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ's will more faithfully. We recall the waters of baptism in which we were also baptized into Christ's death, died to sin and evil, and began new life in Christ.

LENTEN REFLECTION RECOMMENDATIONS
This Lent, Hallow will once again launch its Lent Pray40 prayer challenge, beginning on Ash Wednesday.
This Lent, we invite you to join Walking with Purpose on a journey of spiritual transformation through Psalms of Ascent.
Lenten Generosity Campaign
Over the last several years, the OLP community has selected a local organization to support during the Lenten season.
We have raised thousands of dollars supporting organizations such as Agate Housing Services and Walking with a Purpose.
This year, we are supporting Sharing and Caring Hands, an organization that "was established to be a bridge from the caring, concerned community to the people in need of their help."
This year, our goal is to raise $15,00 to support Sharing and Caring Hands.
