    • Back to School
The term “back to school” for many of us means  shopping for supplies, buying uniforms, and fitting in a few more “fun-filled” days with our children before the first day of school. And of course, don’t forget the State Fair!

For the school staff, it means summer vacation is over and time to get classrooms ready. Teaching staff will return to work on Monday, the 18th, and will participate in a number of workshops – Technology-using Google Drive; Top 20 Training; Cornerstone training, to help teachers use this parent/student tool in an effective manner; First aid/CPR certification; and many other professional development opportunities.

This year, the staff will also be working with our new principal, Ms. Jan Heuman. Besides welcoming Jan into our family at Our Lady of Peace, we also welcome the following teachers: Amber Zabel—preschool teacher, Laura Shiff—middle school math and science teacher, Katherine Kenner—art teacher,  Jack Barrett—music teacher and Rosemary Miller—after care director.  Amy Smith and Marcela Estibill will be teaching Spanish for Suzanne Garcia who is on maternity leave.
