JUSTICE & CHARITY

Overview

The ministry of justice is about bringing our relationships into right order for the sake of building up the common good aiming toward the upbuilding of the Kingdom of God. Ordinarily this ministry requires addressing systems of injustice, systems of relationships out of order, in our families, our church, in our civic society.

The ministry of charity is about serving people's immediate needs for food, clothing, shelter and mental, physical, emotional and relational healing.

Currently, parishioner charity ministry involves Meals on Wheels, serving meals to the poor once per month, collecting food monthly for the poor, and taking up various collections throughout the year. Parishioner justice ministry includes sponsoring a Fair Trade Bazaar in Fall and meeting regularly in the Just Faith group to discuss pertinent justice issues and the parish's response.
