Mission Statement

This text is intended to be a comprehensive statement of our ongoing purpose.

The mission of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Community
- arising from our communion in the Sunday Eucharist -
is
to proclaim the word of God,
to celebrate the presence of the Risen Lord in our midst,
to recognize the gifts of the Holy Spirit among us
and to use them to transform our lives and the world
according to the pattern of life Jesus has shown us.

Belief Statements

The following is a listing of accepted convictions that ground our parish identity and life and provide the foundation for planning.

• Our reverent celebration of Sunday Eucharist is the foundation of our parish community life.
• The whole of our liturgical life, done with grace and devotion day-by-day, sustains our parish life and our communion with the worldwide Church.
• We pass on our Catholic faith life through our commitment to religious formation opportunities for people of all ages, circumstances and backgrounds.
• We are committed in justice to be good stewards of our resources - money, property and talents - for building up the common good.
• We value the participation and gifts of all in our parish community.
• A committed Christian spiritual life calls us to support one another toward becoming what each of us is called to be before God.
• Communicating with mutual respect and acceptance will lead us to justice and truth in our life together.
• We believe the Gospel calls us to recognize and respond to the needs of others.
• We are committed to a quality school grounded in Gospel ministry, solid academics in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, respect for the dignity of the human person and parish life.
